SUMMARY:‘Lost and Found’\, a Collaboration Project by Ruchika Wason Singh\, 22th April 2022
DESCRIPTION:‘Lost and Found’ is a durational collaborative\, ice-based project by Ruchika Wason Singh in which the audience participated along with the artists to take part and create artwork. This project was presented by Desee Art on 29th April 2022 as a parallel event with the exhibition ‘The Dilemma of Sustainability’ at Sangeet Shyamala\, New Delhi. The ice as a material is transformative and the artist\, using this aspect of material evolution\, took us on a journey of observing a process of change while creating along with it. A lot of kids from our audience enjoyed creating watercolors with other artists. This one-of-a-kind collaborative project is a success regarding the wholesome execution and the active engagement from the audience. In the end\, there are several watercolor works and the sculpture of the eye\, looking at us\, as a memoir of time.

SUMMARY:Plasticvalla workshop with the German Embassy School
DESCRIPTION:The studio visit and workshop with the primary school students of the German Embassy School at Plasticvalla’s Delhi studio proved to be a highly successful\, engaging\, and enjoyable session. On a crisp November morning\, around 40 young students eagerly arrived to explore the world of sustainable art.\nThe session began with an in-depth\, guided tour of the studio\, offering students an insightful look into Plasticvalla’s creative process and his innovative work with plastic waste. The children were introduced to various types of leftover plastic and participated in a thought-provoking discussion about waste management and sustainability\, encouraging them to think critically about environmental issues.\nDuring the hands-on workshop\, each student created their own artwork in the form of a playful turtle\, using multi layered plastic (MLP) waste\, under the expert guidance of the artist Manveer\, known as Plasticvalla. The experience allowed the children to engage directly with sustainable materials\, generating creativity and eco-consciousness.\nEnabled by Desee Art\, this collaboration highlighted the joy of learning through art\, and we eagerly anticipate more such enriching sessions with students and climate-conscious individuals.

SUMMARY:‘Snow Leopard’\, Collaboration between Plasticvalla and Ilahi Travels\, March 2022
DESCRIPTION:In March 2022\, on behalf of Desee Art\, the artist Plasticvalla did a collaborative project with Ilahi Travels\, where the artist involved locals and other travelers in gathering plastic waste all around Spiti valley and provided an artistic solution by creating a plastic sculpture of a snow leopard. \nThe trash around the valley is hard-to-recycle plastic that contributes to the Global Warming Emergency and causes snow to melt. The work poses the question – If there is no snow\, where will the Snow Leopard go? \nThis installation is an urge to the citizens and tourists of Spiti to abide by the basic rules of collecting your trash\, reusing\, recycling\, and reducing it. We hope this activity will inspire many more to be part of this needful change and it still stands in the Spiti valley as a token of encouragement to be more concerned towards mother nature.
