“Art is my lifeline.”
Shubhra Chaturvedi decided to leave her full time work in the corporate world and dedicate herself to visual arts around 2002. Her strong will and determination led her to immerse herself in the world of art; she is a self taught artist who uses her frustration against Indian socio-political realities as a driving force of her creations. She is an explorer at heart, she is constantly experimenting with different techniques, mediums, and mediums of creation. However, art, to her, remains an expression, a release of angst she feels towards society.

The farmers' protests in the Delhi NCR region during the COVID period have been engraved in India’s history. She was deeply affected by government reactions and retaliations to these protests, this led her to create her Andolanjeevi series of works. As “a collector who recycles scrap through art,” she made this series entirely out of accessible materials such as paper pulp. Chaturvedi voices her opinion of the events in the way she knows how. Since then she has embraced activist and protest art and wishes to use her art to bring like-minded people together, in the hope to finally incite change.
