‘Snow Leopard’, Collaboration between Plasticvalla and Ilahi Travels, March 2022

In March 2022, on behalf of Desee Art, the artist Plasticvalla did a collaborative project with Ilahi Travels, where the artist involved locals and other travelers in gathering plastic waste all around Spiti valley and provided an artistic solution by creating a plastic sculpture of a snow leopard.

The trash around the valley is hard-to-recycle plastic that contributes to the Global Warming Emergency and causes snow to melt. The work poses the question – If there is no snow, where will the Snow Leopard go?

This installation is an urge to the citizens and tourists of Spiti to abide by the basic rules of collecting your trash, reusing, recycling, and reducing it. We hope this activity will inspire many more to be part of this needful change and it still stands in the Spiti valley as a token of encouragement to be more concerned towards mother nature.
