Were you looking to buy Senior Indian artists’ works? Look no further! Saffron Art India ’s summer online auction features the works of many famous Indian Artists. Their annual #onlineauction commences on the 12th of June and ends on the 13th. Be sure to check it out tomorrow!

Saffron Art is one of the world’s leading auction houses that conducts both live and online auctions. Among the myriad of famous artists being showcased in the online auction is Sudarshan Shetty, well known for his piece “House of Shades” that was commissioned by Louis Vuitton and unveiled in Galleria de Milano in 2010. Sudarshan Studio ‘s painting ‘Praise of Shadows’ is featured here. The placement of a fish’s skeleton in a quotidian space such as the one depicted here offers a unique juxtaposition between mundane life and fantasy.

Out of the 120 lots being auctioned is V S Gaitonde’s artwork at Lot Number 51. This piece is the work that is the most expensive, with an estimate of over Rs.16.5 crores or $2.4 million! This untitled oil on canvas piece was made by V S Gaitonde in 1970.
Other artists that are being featured include Jamini Roy , K H Ara , hakushah , Ganesh Pyne , Sadanand Bakre , Jitish Kallat , Huma Mulji, Gaganendranath Tagore,  H A Gade, M F Hussain, Ram Kumar Artist, Sailoz Mukherjea, F N Souza, Syed Haider Raza, Jagdish Swaminathan, Akbar Padamsee, Krishen Khanna, Sakti Burman, Lalu Prasad Shaw, Anjolie Ela Menon and many more.
