Description

In this captivating series, the artist draws inspiration from the embrace of his roots, nestled near the Kaziranga National Park in Assam. Intrigued by the poignant narrative unfolding in his hometown, the artist bears witness to the struggle of the wild inhabitants against the encroaching tide of human-made adversity.

Within the backdrop of burgeoning industrialization and the relentless march of the neoliberal economy, the free market ethos compels nature to bow before the dictates of human desires. A gradual incursion into the sanctity of forests, verdant landscapes, and pristine waters becomes the unsettling consequence of this insatiable human hunger. The artist, through a meticulous process with materials salvaged from construction sites, crafts a distinct form that serves as both medium and message.

In this work, the deer and rabbit dwell over the gradual extinction of green and the invasion of  gray concrete foundations. This unique creation becomes a visual chronicle, offering glimpses into the lives of animals whose natural abodes bear the brunt of anthropogenic excesses. The artistic endeavor breathes life into the silent suffering of the creatures, their habitats transformed by the unwavering march of human endeavors.
