Description

Amidst the cacophony of concrete and steel, a solitary bird perches atop an improbable nest—a delicate tapestry woven from discarded wires and industrial fragments. Its feathers ruffle against the relentless urban winds, a testament to survival in a world reshaped by human ambition.

The work contemplates on the environmental situation and the urban condition while depicting the plight of birds, losing their natural habitat. The artist’s inspiration unfurls like a forgotten melody: a chance encounter, perhaps at dawn, when the city still slumbered;  the artist witnessed a bird trying to build nests with the found wires and industrial objects in an urban setting. The artwork intends to highlight the resilience and resourcefulness of these birds while also raising awareness about the challenges they face due to the loss of natural habitats. The artist used a chemically treated skeleton of the bird along with the human head placed on recycled electronic waste. It aims to evoke contemplation and dialogue about the consequences of urban development on biodiversity and the need for sustainable urban planning.

This artwork beckons us to pause, to trace the contours of our own existence within this urban ecosystem. It asks: What price do we pay for progress? Can we weave new narratives, where birds reclaim their skies and nature reclaims its voice? As the sun sets, casting shadows upon wire and feather, we find ourselves entangled in this delicate dance—a requiem for lost habitats, a plea for sustainable harmony.
